As an Estimator II here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various projects. This role is essential in ensuring the success and profitability of our bids and supporting the growth of our organization.
In this role, you will impact the accuracy and competitiveness of our project bids, ensuring that they align with customer expectations and company standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements and provide detailed cost estimates that support our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for robust estimation processes to deliver best in quality and cost competitive bids to enable achievement of HBS regional sales targets.
Technical Skills:
· Estimation of Fire, Security packages - Input study, generation of RFI's, equipment take-off, device selection, Solution design, Controller and Server Sizing, preparation of BOQ costing, cable schedule.
· Proposals- Studying specifications and arrive at inclusion/ exclusion list, qualifications/ assumptions/ deviations along with the technical proposal.
· Technical submittals - Preparation of system architecture, floor risers, specification compliance etc. as per regional requirements.
· Commercial exposure - Vendor management, taxations.
· Contributing and tracking the regional technical preferences on estimations, awareness of the product ranges, ability to apply knowledge and understanding of Honeywell products to develop solutions that meet customer requirements.
· Performing quality checks for the jobs.
· Contribute towards establishing & standardization of new processes for cost optimization & cycle time reduction.
· Sound Knowledge of business processes and systems.
· Provide competitive insight from past opportunities and apply "lessons learned" to the assigned opportunities to generate effective counter strategies. Take Lead Role in Design & Estimation of all System Proposals that get approved in the BNB and any other emergency bids.
· Provide accurate technical solutions for all Security System, ELV Bid Proposals.
· Should be able to size & select the Servers, Storages along with needed Calculations.
· Ability to propose secure LAN, WAN, VPNs for the Hardware deployed at one site or across cluster of buildings in one location or different cities.
· Work closely with the KSA P&E Leader to produce the best technical solution as your ultimate deliverable within time and quality.
· Prepare and Use the TPD (Technical Proposal) Document for all Bids in close liaison with Bid Manager.
· Take Ownership and Accountability of all Security/FAS Bids as applicable.
Work closely with the P&E team members to gather the required information on-time and manage the proposal output as a mini-project during the pre-sales cycle.
· Capture the bid/no-bid (BNB) process and work across all functions to obtain the necessary approvals within the bidding time cycle.
· Manage relationship with potential & existing clients to be able to shorten the bid proposal time plan while maintaining quality measure set by Honeywell.
· Apply good understanding of project' deployment, engineering/estimation processes and strong market' awareness and cultural influence, to be able to guide the team members on prioritization.
· Work closely with sales & business development teams in understanding and assessing customer's requirements.
· Facilitate the support required across different functions to the Estimators within the team to be able to gather the quality engineering proposals as a vital component of your bid proposal.
· Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision & release Quality Bid deliverables.
· You should be able to interact with internal/external clients and present the professional image of Honeywell.
· Work in close liaison with Bid Manager and P&E Leader and preparing P&E Slides for Leadership-Review Decks (L-Deck). Take Lead Role in chartering L Review Calls for all the Bids handled. Work Closely with Honeywell COE (Center of Excellence) Estimation Team based in Pune and TAC Team in Bangalore and obtain TRR approvals in a timely manner prior to the L Review Calls for bidding.
· Work closely with the Project Operations Team and obtain inputs for enhancing solutions proposed.
· Assist the P&E Leader in Preparing Bid Programs for all FAS/Security etc. Bids.
· Assistance with the creating highly professional technical and commercial proposals suitable for presentation to the highest levels of management.
· Reviewing scope for all opportunities and proposals and deliver on technical compliance statements.
· Work closely with sales & business development teams in understanding and assessing customer's requirements.
· Selecting the proper combination of hardware, software, equipment, materials, and services that will deliver the highest value to the customer while supporting overall Honeywell business objectives.
· Must have the ability to multitask and produce desired results in a deadline driven environment. Proposals include technical scope, commercial estimates, deliverables, schedules and terms and conditions and other variables to meet customer requests and expectations. All proposal work must be completed according to Honeywell professional standards.
· Train other members of the P&E team on the standards of estimation followed in KSA by arranging and conducting Share & Learn Sessions.
YOU MUST HAVE
+ +5 years of experience in estimating
+ Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
+ Proficiency in using estimating software and tools
+ Ability to interpret project plans, specifications, and drawings

Key job responsibilities

Responsible for helping the project managers in managing some tasks of the assigned projects effectively, as follow up the status of the engineering schedules with both the company technical office side and the projects consultants side as well, follow up issuing the PO's with the procurement, follow up with the subcontractors, etc.

  • Develops projects objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with project managers.
  • Determines projects responsibilities by identifying projects phases and elements; reviewing bids from sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Determines projects specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
  • Confirms project performance by designing and conducting installation, operation and commissioning testing on all systems of the project.
  • Establishes projects schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirement; sequencing project elements and resources.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
  • Controls project plans by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
  • Controls project cost by approving expenditures; administering sub-contractor contracts.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
  • Maintains project database by entering and backing up data of all projects.
  • Maintains deliverables and company reputation by complying with legal regulations and delivering the work with integrity in time and according to the required specifications.
  • Maintains a safe environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations and follows up all HSE instructions.

The Role Job description

Support project managers in executing and managing various aspects of assigned projects. This includes monitoring the progress of engineering schedules with both the internal technical office and external consultants, following up on purchase orders with the procurement team, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring the smooth operation of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and coordinating with project managers.
  • Define project roles and responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; review and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Determine project specifications by studying product designs, client requirements, and performance standards; conduct technical assessments and prepare cost estimates.
  • Ensure proper project execution by planning and conducting installation, operation, and commissioning tests for all systems involved.
  • Establish project timelines by analyzing project plans and specifications, estimating time requirements, and sequencing tasks and resources.
  • Maintain adherence to project schedules by tracking progress, coordinating activities among stakeholders, and addressing any arising issues.
  • Oversee project planning and execution by reviewing technical designs, monitoring specification compliance, and suggesting necessary actions.
  • Control project budgets by reviewing expenditures and managing subcontractor contracts in alignment with approved project costs.
  • Prepare regular project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing performance data and trends, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records and databases, ensuring all information is properly documented and backed up.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards and industry specifications, delivering high-quality work that maintains the company's reputation for integrity and reliability.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations by promoting and monitoring safe working practices across all project sites.
