**How you will contribute**
Under the guidance of Mondelez International's legal leader or counsel, you will deliver on our legal strategy, activities, and service delivery model in a legal specialist and generalist area of focus. In this role, you provide strategic legal support to the legal business unit, region and global stakeholders and work closely with them to ensure legal concepts and implications are understood and related legal and operational risks are assessed. You will operate systems and technologies relevant to the area of support, prepare documents, gather information, and interact with business partners to deliver objectives and provide expertise and experience in a legal specialty area to identify and advise on laws and regulatory changes for a given country and/or across multiple countries.

**More about this role**
**What you need to know about this position:**
+ Process outside counsel legal invoices. Understand direct and indirect tax implications for outside counsel legal invoices for the countries/regions that company does business
+ Respond to law firm and vendor queries regarding invoices and payments and act as primary contact for all invoicing issues with internal colleagues
+ Monitor and reconcile invoices between e-billing and SAP systems
+ Monitor and audit invoices to ensure timely processing and in accordance with Outside Counsel Billing Guidelines
+ Analyze rejections and/or deductions, resolve issues, coordinate and process revisions or adjustments
+ Assist with internal forecasts, financial planning and potential budget risks to ensure the department meets their strategic financial targets
+ Develop outside counsel reports for the regions and business units
+ Support regularly scheduled monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements
+ Develop understanding of Mondelez International's database reporting capabilities, including an understanding of the metrics Mondelez International possesses or can develop that reflect Legal spending
+ Analyze and measure the law firm's performance against budgets, staffing models, budget and staff plans, maintain metrics scorecard and develop strategies and recommendations
+ Manage the accrual process, reconciliation and communication with the firms
+ Matter and Vendor Management
+ Act as the primary contact for all matter management issues with internal stakeholders, law firms and vendors
+ Project management, development of policies and procedures, define reporting requirements, process improvements, as well as end-user training and enhance the global team's operational effectiveness and support.
+ Support the Legal team with basic legal work such as templates, correspondence preparation and information consolidation.

**Job Title:** Legal Counsel

**The job**
The Legal Counsel will primarily be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a range of commercial contracts to support AVEVA's business largely in an assigned territory, as well as providing professional and timely advice to various internal stakeholders such as sales, procurement, operations, finance and HR.
Reporting to VP Legal Sales, EMEA and working with an experienced and well-established legal team in EMEA, the Legal Counsel will be a trusted advisor who is customer service oriented, has an eagerness to tackle a wide range of legal and business issues and the ability to balance legal risks with business objectives and successfully get deals closed in a timely manner and, all with a positive attitude. The Legal Counsel will also provide counsel regarding compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies.
This is a hybrid working role based out of the AVEVA office in Cairo, Egypt. There will be some opportunities to travel in the region on an as-required basis for projects and customer-facing negotiations.
**Key responsibilities**
+ Be an integral part of the continued growth of AVEVA's commercial deal pursuits as well as general legal issues that arise in the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region by providing pragmatic legal advice
+ Advise, review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts with public sector and private customers, partners and suppliers as necessary, including but not limited to software services agreements, maintenance agreements, consultancy agreements, global contractual framework agreements, procurement, subcontractor, and strategic alliance agreements, as well as other in-bound commercial agreements, always operating within an agreed approval matrix and legal policy framework
+ Establish good working relationships throughout the Legal department and across all relevant business units
+ Maintain current knowledge of, and support compliance with, applicable laws and regulations as well as group legal policies
+ Assist in reviewing and assessing current processes, practices and structures for efficient legal compliance, and lead or support projects and initiatives to improve and/or streamline legal processes and documentation
+ Manage and coordinate with internal subject matter experts, external counsel, and relevant authorities as needed
+ Prepare contract summaries, legal trackers, and dispute resolution trackers to aid in the management decision-making process
+ Assist in developing, maintaining and updating legal systems and records
+ Assist several sub-functions within the Legal department on corporate, regulatory and other legal matters at a local level, such as M&A activities, corporate housekeeping, employment, facilities, trade compliance and litigation related matters, as required
+ Lead or assist with various projects and tasks as may be assigned
**Essential requirements**
+ Authorised and licensed to practice law in Egypt
+ At least 4 years' PQE in a reputable commercial law firm or in-house environment, preferably with relevant experience in software licensing
+ Fluent in English (written and verbal) with great technological skills
+ Warm and personable with excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate well with diverse, cross functional teams
+ Worked proactively and closely with business stakeholders to identify and analyse critical commercial and legal issues
+ Pays strong attention to detail and possesses excellent contract negotiation and drafting skills
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, motivated self-starter
