Job Title: Mid-Level Environmental Management Specialist

Job Description:

Project Coordination and Management:

·   Leading and overseeing projects.

·   Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

·   Collaborating with various stakeholders and team members.

Technical Report Writing such as:

·   Preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).

·   Preparation of Environmental Due Diligence (EDD).

·   Preparation of Environmental Management Plans.

·   Preparation of other environmental reports in various sectors including but not limited to: renewable energy, waste management, climate change, etc.

Support in Proposal Development:

·   Developing technical methodology in line with tender document requirements for inclusion in technical proposals.

Qualifications:

·   Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is required, Master's degree is preferred.

· years of experience in environmental management or a related field preferably in consultancy firms.

·   Project management and coordination skills.

·   Proficient in technical report writing and proposal development.

·   Excellent English and Arabic written and oral communication skills.

·   Able to travel within Egypt and abroad.

Key Responsibilities :-

• Develop & Lead Sustainability excellence initiatives at DP World Egypt
• Develop, implement, and monitor DP World Sustainability Programs and Standards at the site
• Lead the promotion, education and project support for habitat compensation, mitigation, and management.
• Lead and conduct Stakeholder engagement at DP World Egypt
• Partner with multiple functions and stakeholders around the ESG parameters
• Manage the Sustainability Scorecard reporting of ESG parameters to the management.
• Guide and support the business unit to raise the Sustainability Score
• Lead and guide the Business Units in development of sustainability management plans and monitoring programs, in line with region & group requirement.
• Develop Customer Value Propositions on Sustainability
• Understand potential environmental and social impacts and co-ordinate/provide support to business units to ensure that assessments are undertaken and appropriate plans for mitigation, compensation and monitoring are developed and implemented, as needed.
• Lead and implement social initiatives at the sites.
• Assist with training development related to Sustainability.
• Create, manage, and advise on Sustainability bulletin as required.
• Plan and manage Sustainability due diligence assessments to assess risk and liability
• Plan and manage budgets for Sustainability projects at the BU.
• Liaise with Regional Office departments (such as operations, engineering, business development, etc.) to support joint initiatives and projects.
• Support and advise on the regional Carbon Management and Reduction Strategy. Identify opportunities and priorities and partner with HSE for this.
• Act as an ambassador for DP World; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World Principles, values and culture; understanding and following DP World's Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.

Education, Qualifications and Experience :-

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Professional certifications in ESG, Sustainability Reporting, or Environmental Management (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001, GRI, SASB, etc.) are a plus.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG, or environmental/social governance programs, preferably in industrial or port operations.
• Proven track record of developing and executing sustainability strategies and programs.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement, community initiatives, and managing cross-functional sustainability projects.

Skills & Competencies:-

• Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, sustainability standards, and global reporting practices.
• Experience with sustainability scorecards, data tracking, and performance reporting.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to convert group directives into localized initiatives.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, including budget planning and monitoring.

• Create and execute a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with the company s goals and values.
• Oversee sustainability projects from conception to execution, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
• Collect and analyze data related to energy consumption, waste management, carbon credits, Plastic credits, and resource use to identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards; prepare reports for stakeholders on sustainability metrics and progress.
• Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and community organizations to promote and implement sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities

1. Sustainability & ESG Strategy Implementation:
   Implements sustainability strategies aligned with corporate priorities, ESG frameworks, and the UN SDGs. Supports the development and localization of these strategies, ensuring effective execution across business units, subsidiaries, and regional contexts.
2. Budget Management & Sustainability Accounting
   : Manages the budgeting and financial tracking of sustainability and CSV initiatives. Ensures cost-effectiveness, transparent use of resources, and alignment with Group financial controls. Supports ESG-related financial disclosures and reporting in accordance with sustainability accounting standards.
3. CSV & Program Management:
   Manages the planning, execution, and monitoring of Creating Shared Value (CSV) programs that generate measurable benefits for both business and communities. Collaborates with NGOs, social enterprises, and partners to deliver high-impact, locally relevant initiatives.
4. Sustainability Reporting & Compliance:
   Owns ESG and sustainability reporting processes and toolkits, ensuring alignment with relevant standards and regulatory requirements. Drives timely execution by maintaining data accuracy, meeting submission deadlines, and monitoring key performance indicators such as carbon footprint, diversity metrics, and Social Return on Investment (SROI).
5. Subsidiary Engagement & Support:
   Supports regional and subsidiary teams in aligning local sustainability activities with the Group's overarching strategy. Provides tools, templates, and capacity-building support to ensure consistent, effective, and contextually relevant implementation across all markets.
6. Community & Partnership Coordination:
   Assesses and develops propositions for partnerships with community organizations, NGOs, and development agencies, obtaining Chief Marketing, PR & Comms Officer approval. Coordinates initiatives that advance the Group's social impact goals and build sustainable, long-term relationships.
7. Internal Stakeholder Collaboration:
   Collaborates closely with internal teams—including Marketing, PR, HR, Legal, HSE, Compliance, Audit, Finance, and core business units—to embed sustainability into operations, processes, and communications. Fosters shared responsibility and promote cross-functional integration to drive sustainability objectives.
8. Risk Identification & Materiality Assessment:
   Identifies ESG-related risks and contributes to materiality assessments. Supports the integration of these findings into strategic planning, reporting, and stakeholder disclosures.
9. External Representation & Knowledge Sharing:
   Participates in sustainability forums, industry working groups, and external events. Represents the function in line with approved messaging and contributes to knowledge sharing and benchmarking efforts.
10. Training & Culture Awareness:
    Delivers and sources sustainability training and awareness campaigns to build knowledge and foster engagement throughout the organization.
11. Individual Performance and Development:
    Delivers on annual KPIs and implements the agreed training and development plan, actively seeking managerial support to achieve personal and professional growth.

Skills & Qualifications

• Education:
  Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Social Innovation, Business, or a related field
• Master's degree (preferred) in Sustainability, Environmental Policy, Development Studies, or Business with a sustainability focus
• Years of Experience
  : Typically, 7–12 years of relevant professional experience in sustainability, ESG strategy, CSR/CSV program development, or related functions.
• Minimum 3–5 years in an advisory role, within a corporate, regional, or multi-subsidiary setting
• Technical Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks and regulatory standards

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental -Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

• Professional certifications such as LEED AP, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, CSP, CEP are a strong advantage.

• 7+ years of progressive experience in sustainability or environmental management, preferably in manufacturing or industrial operations.

• In-depth knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and compliance standards, particularly ISO 14001 & EMS.
