Purpose
Leading a team of technicians in troubleshooting and resolving the faults in PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and control circuits, Using the root cause analysis (RCA) techniques to identify and fix recurring problems. Monitor and improve performance of automation equipment to reduce downtime.
Core Responsibilities
Production Lines Maintenance
Responsible for maintaining and updating detailed maintenance records using (CMMS), while interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to support diagnostics and repairs. Skilled in the installation, configuration, and calibration of sensors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and other industrial control devices. Actively support the commissioning of new equipment and the upgrade of existing systems, ensuring alignment with technical and safety standards. Work collaboratively with production teams to schedule and perform maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
Project management
- Participate in the preparation of business cases and related project plans and execute these upon approval by sponsor(s) and steering committee(s).
- Monitor day to day aspects of projects including quality of work product, client communications, budget, schedule, and coordinating technical staff (internal and external) and run regular reporting to higher management and stakeholders about project progress.
- Work with production, safety and laboratory managers as well as external specialists and authorities to create specification sheets, design and detailed plans respecting all norms and regulations as well as EHS standards.
- Maintain quality control of deliverables, demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity and clarity, adherence to project schedules, applicable quality management standards, safety and security regulations.
- Write and compile all required technical reports that summarize results from tests and feasibility assessments, recommended improvement opportunities, calculated associated savings, and estimated incentives.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and place orders in collaboration with the purchasing department.
- Support project managers in resource and contingency planning.
- Controls contractors on site for the projects managed.
- Executes the project plan(s) within approved budget.
Academic Background
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Automation Engineering or related discipline.
- Plant Engineering or Maintenance Certification.
- Project Management Certification is preferable.
Professional Experience
- 2 to 4 years of experience in electrical & automation maintenance, including exposure to engineering projects involving resources from diverse disciplines.
Technical Skills
- Good command in TPM, KPI, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and project controlling tools.
- Good knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines.
- Good command in stakeholder management and communications.
- Basics of financial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX) and tools (e.g. SAP) .
