Key Responsibilities:
Incoming Raw Material Inspection:
Check received date batches for quality, size, moisture content, ripeness, and absence of pests.
- Verify supplier documentation, including harvest date, origin, and pesticide analysis reports.
Reject or quarantine raw materials that do not conform to our standards.
In-Process Quality Control:
Monitor sorting and grading lines to ensure accuracy in size, color, and moisture levels.
- Routinely check for foreign matter, damaged dates, and other defects during processing.
- Ensure that all quality control equipment, such as metal detectors, X-ray machines, and sieves, are functioning correctly.
Verify strict adherence to HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) critical control points throughout the production line.
Finished Product Inspection:
Inspect final product packaging for integrity, label accuracy, and correct weight.
- Verify the final moisture content and Brix level (sugar content) of the packaged dates.
Check carton sealing, pallet stability, and overall cleanliness before shipment.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive QC records, including inspection reports, rejection logs, and CCP monitoring sheets.
- Report any deviations to the production team and initiate corrective and preventive actions.
Support full traceability by meticulously recording batch numbers and production dates.
Food Safety & Hygiene Compliance:
Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) on the production floor.
- Monitor employee hygiene practices, such as hand washing, use of gloves, and proper uniform attire.
- Verify that all cleaning and sanitation schedules for equipment and facilities are being followed and documented.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A minimum of two years of proven experience in a quality control role within the date processing industry.
- Proven knowledge of date grading standards (e.g., Medjool, Deglet Noor).
- Strong familiarity with food safety standards such as HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC, and FDA requirements.
- Proficiency in using quality testing tools like moisture meters, refractometers, and calipers.
- Excellent observational skills for accurate defect detection.
