Key Responsibilities:

  1. Incoming Raw Material Inspection:

  2. Check received date batches for quality, size, moisture content, ripeness, and absence of pests.

  3. Verify supplier documentation, including harvest date, origin, and pesticide analysis reports.
  4. Reject or quarantine raw materials that do not conform to our standards.

  5. In-Process Quality Control:

  6. Monitor sorting and grading lines to ensure accuracy in size, color, and moisture levels.

  7. Routinely check for foreign matter, damaged dates, and other defects during processing.
  8. Ensure that all quality control equipment, such as metal detectors, X-ray machines, and sieves, are functioning correctly.
  9. Verify strict adherence to HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) critical control points throughout the production line.

  10. Finished Product Inspection:

  11. Inspect final product packaging for integrity, label accuracy, and correct weight.

  12. Verify the final moisture content and Brix level (sugar content) of the packaged dates.
  13. Check carton sealing, pallet stability, and overall cleanliness before shipment.

  14. Documentation & Reporting:

  15. Maintain comprehensive QC records, including inspection reports, rejection logs, and CCP monitoring sheets.

  16. Report any deviations to the production team and initiate corrective and preventive actions.
  17. Support full traceability by meticulously recording batch numbers and production dates.

  18. Food Safety & Hygiene Compliance:

  19. Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) on the production floor.

  20. Monitor employee hygiene practices, such as hand washing, use of gloves, and proper uniform attire.
  21. Verify that all cleaning and sanitation schedules for equipment and facilities are being followed and documented.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of two years of proven experience in a quality control role within the date processing industry.
  • Proven knowledge of date grading standards (e.g., Medjool, Deglet Noor).
