In this role, you will design, develop, and implement automated workflows within the OpenText platform to streamline business processes. You will collaborate with stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities and deliver effective solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency. Requirements

• Proven experience as an OpenText Process Automation Developer or similar role
• Strong knowledge of OpenText products and the ability to use them effectively
• Experience in designing and developing automated workflows
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript or Python
• Solid understanding of business process modeling and automation techniques
• Experience with databases, SQL, and data management practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

RPA Developer:

Bot Development (Simple Processes):

Building basic automations: This is the core. Junior developers will create bots for straightforward, rules-based, repetitive tasks within a single application or a limited number of applications. Examples include data entry, report generation, basic data extraction, or file manipulation.

Using RPA tools: They will spend significant time hands-on with specific RPA platforms (e.g., UiPath Studio, Automation Anywhere Workbench, Blue Prism Studio) to design and configure automation workflows.

Process Understanding & Documentation (Assisted):

Learning processes: Working closely with business analysts or senior developers to understand "as-is" business processes that are targeted for automation. This involves mapping steps, identifying decision points, and understanding exceptions.

Creating process documentation: Documenting the steps of the automated process, including detailed flowcharts, screenshots, and descriptions. This documentation is crucial for understanding, maintaining, and troubleshooting the bots. They might assist in creating Process Design Documents (PDDs) and Solution Design Documents (SDDs).

Testing and Debugging:

Testing developed bots: Running test cases to ensure the automation works as expected, handles different scenarios, and produces accurate results.

Basic debugging: Identifying and fixing simple errors or bugs within the automation scripts. This might involve stepping through the bot's execution, reviewing logs, and making minor adjustments to components.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support: Assisting with UAT, gathering feedback from business users, and making minor adjustments based on their input.

Maintenance and Support (Under Guidance):

Monitoring existing bots: Keeping an eye on the performance of deployed bots, checking logs for errors, and ensuring they run smoothly.

Applying minor fixes: Addressing small issues that arise in production environments, often following established troubleshooting guides.

Performing routine updates: Assisting with updates to RPA tools or bot dependencies.

Reusable Components:

Building reusable snippets: Creating small, modular components (e.g., login routines, specific data extraction methods) that can be reused across different automations to promote efficiency and consistency.

Learning and Skill Development:

Tool proficiency: Continuously learning and mastering the features and best practices of the chosen RPA platform.

Basic programming/scripting: While RPA tools are low-code/no-code, basic understanding of programming logic, variables, loops, conditional statements, and potentially scripting languages (like Python, VBA, C#, or .NET) is often required for more complex scenarios or custom integrations.

Understanding of SDLC/Agile: Familiarizing themselves with software development lifecycles and agile methodologies if the team uses them.

Staying updated: Keeping up with the latest trends and features in the RPA landscape.
