Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic
Resource Optimization Lead (ROL)
to join our growing Software Development Center (SDC) team. This is a critical role focused on maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our technical talent, directly impacting our project delivery success and strategic growth.
As the Resource Optimization Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring we have the right people with the right skills in the right place at the right time. You will be instrumental in bridging strategic workforce planning with operational resource allocation within our SDC, which operates on an Engineering Manager (EM) and Practice Lead (PL) model.
What You'll Do:
- Data-Driven Insights:
Collect, analyze, and report on SDC-wide resource data, including utilization, bench capacity, skill inventories, and demand forecasts. - Strategic Workforce Planning:
Collaborate with the SDC Manager, Engineering Managers, and Practice Leads to inform strategic hiring plans, identify skill gaps, and support long-term workforce development initiatives. - Operational Allocation Support:
Provide critical data and analysis to Engineering Managers for daily resource allocation decisions, ensuring optimal project staffing. - Demand Management:
Manage the central intake of resource requests from Project Managers (EBU) and Solutioning, ensuring a clear and efficient process. - System Integrity:
Maintain the integrity and accuracy of resource data within our Resource Management Systems (RMS). - Reporting:
Develop and present regular reports and dashboards on SDC resource health, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership.
Who You Are:
- A highly analytical individual with a passion for data and its application in optimizing organizational efficiency.
- Experienced in resource management, workforce planning, or operations analysis, ideally within a software development or IT services environment.
- Proficient in using data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, BI tools) and experienced with Resource Management Systems (RMS).
- An excellent communicator, capable of translating complex data into clear, actionable insights for various stakeholders.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong problem-solver, able to identify bottlenecks and propose data-backed solutions.
What You'll Bring:
- 5-7 years of experience in a resource management, workforce planning, business analyst, or similar analytical role.
- Proven experience working with large datasets and developing comprehensive reports.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycles and agile methodologies is a plus.
- Strong understanding of capacity planning, utilization metrics, and demand forecasting.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
