Key Responsibilities:

1. Occupational Health & Safety

• Identify workplace hazards and recommend preventive measures.
• Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and safety inspections.
• Enforce the use of PPE and monitor compliance across all production areas.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.

2. Food Safety & Hygiene

• Ensure hygiene and sanitation practices align with HACCP, ISO 22000, and local food safety regulations.
• Collaborate with QA/QC teams to support food handling, storage, and contamination prevention.
• Monitor cleaning schedules, pest control logs, and hygiene audits.

3. Legal Compliance & Documentation

• Stay updated on Egyptian labor, food safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain and organize EHS records: training logs, inspection checklists, SDSs, waste tracking, etc.
• Support regulatory inspections and customer audits.

4. Training & Engagement

• Deliver EHS and food safety training to new and existing employees.
• Organize safety drills (fire, evacuation, chemical spill) and awareness campaigns.
• Promote employee involvement through safety committees or suggestion programs.

5. Environmental Management

• Monitor energy, water, and waste metrics; suggest reduction initiatives.
• Support implementation of environmental management programs (e.g., recycling, composting, emissions control).
• Coordinate proper storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous materials.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Giza, 6th of October for an Environmental Health Safety Head. The Environmental Health Safety Head will be responsible for overseeing and managing health and safety protocols. Key tasks will include conducting workplace safety assessments, implementing safety training programs, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, and developing and maintaining EHS policies and procedures specific to the packaging and packing industry. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential safety hazards and will involve regular communication with various departments to promote a culture of safety.

Mission of the position
To lead the safe and successful implementation of CAF's Workplace Health, Safety and Environment (WHSE) management system in Egypt. The position ensures legal compliance, risk prevention, a strong safety culture, and continuous monitoring of WHSE practices across operations.

Functions And Responsibilities

• Lead WHSE system implementation and ensure compliance with Egyptian legislation and CAF corporate guidelines.
• Identify and monitor all WHSE legal and contractual obligations in the project.
• Conduct risk assessments to reduce or eliminate hazards across business activities.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; develop corrective and preventive actions.
• Establish and maintain WHSE plans and inspection calendars.
• Lead internal audits, ensure documentation and certification readiness.
• Promote WHSE culture and ensure team communication and awareness.
• Coordinate with project teams and subcontractors to ensure WHSE compliance.
