Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven senior data analyst to join our dynamic analytics team. As a senior data analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing complex data, providing actionable insights, and supporting data-driven decision-making across various business functions. You will play a key role in interpreting large datasets, identifying trends, and helping the company develop data strategies to drive business performance.

Data Modeling & Visualization:

• Design and develop data models to support business decision-making processes.
• Create and maintain visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Incorta, and Informatica.
• Implement and enhance data models for predictive and prescriptive analytics.

Advanced Statistical & Predictive Analysis:

• Apply statistical techniques (regression, clustering, hypothesis testing) and predictive modeling to solve business problems.
• Use machine learning algorithms and other advanced analytics techniques to forecast trends and outcomes.

Collaboration with Business Units:

• Work closely with other departments (marketing, finance, operations, etc.) to understand their data needs and provide actionable solutions.

Data Governance & Quality Assurance:

• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of the data used across the organization.
• Help maintain data quality standards and troubleshoot any data discrepancies.

Mentorship & Leadership:

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data analysts, assisting in their professional growth.

Description
The CS Data Analyst will support the rapid growth of Customer Service Org by developing business metrics, mining data to uncover consumer insights and business opportunity, and also partnering with internal stakeholders to drive the business. This role requires an individual with excellent understanding of SQL and query development, good business acumen and the ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholders. Successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, will have strong attention to detail, and will be comfortable working in fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key job responsibilities
- Understanding data and using automated, tools to extract data from databases.
- Designing of queries and generation of reports, dashboards and maintenance of data integrity.
- Plan and execute multiple projects, collaborating cross functionally/geographically.
- Complete ad hoc data retrieval and analysis using relational databases, Excel and other data management systems to fetch raw data and analyze it to prepare insightful reports.
- Deep dive into the data to capture defects and surface improvement opportunities using visualization, charts and graphs.
- Support CS Operations during large scale feature, product and business launches.

**EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE**
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Engineering
- Full proficiency in English + 1 Additional language (French, German, Arabic, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese.)
- 0 to 4 years of technical experience in advanced analytics and business intelligence

**TECHNICAL SKILLS**

**ACQUISITION & PREPARATION**
- Exposure to Big Data environments and languages such as Hadoop, Hortonworks, Cloudera, Spark, Scala, PySpark etc. &Big Data querying tools, such as Pig, Hive, and Impala
- Exposure to large data sets both structured and unstructured data: Snowflake, SQL and relational databases, data warehouse, data lake
- Exposure to Python programming language coupled with an additional languages experience if possible (e.g. SAS, R, Javascript)

**ANALYSIS**
- Good skills in Analytical concepts such as data correlation, pareto, market-basket analysis, forecasting, creating complex visuals like sunburst, multi-layered maps, etc.
- Experience in BI/Data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, QlikView

**DEPLOYMENT**
- Exposure to versioning software: Git, Github, Gitlab
- Exposure to API integration using Python for extracting data from different sources

**JOB PURPOSE**:
The Regional Monitoring team is providing technical support and oversight to 17 countries during their implementation of the Country Strategic Plans (CSP). 17 countries are Egypt, Armenia, Algeria, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, State of Palestine, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, and Yemen.

The team guides and ensures that the CSP Monitoring, Review and Evaluation plans will provide the most relevant and strategic information toward achieving expected results while being compliant with WFP corporate monitoring and evaluation requirements. To ensure effective programming, it is essential that monitoring and evaluation (M&E) ensures risks are mitigated and decision-makers can adjust programmes based on findings and data coming in through M&E systems. However, the systems used for data collection, reporting and visualization of findings are not yet standardized or consistent across the organization.

WFP seeks to build its capacity to centrally receive, store, process and analyze digital operational data for the purpose of promoting accountability, controls, and efficiencies across its programmes and use data to better inform WFP’s programme design and performance measurement through the analysis of data collected from its regional operations.

Particularly for this position, the Data Management Specilaist will focus on management and visualization of regional monitoring data by developing and standardizing consolidated databases and insightful and innovative dashboards to best leverage M&E data both within Country Offices and across the region.
