Roles and Responsibilities
- Drafting and reviewing terms of contracts and other legal documents.
- Advising departments and stakeholders, conducting legal research, and summarizing research on procedural matters.
- Updating and abiding by the legal management tracking sheet and relevant SLA's.
- Responsible for the registration process of the company with its customers, in accordance with the instructions of line manager.
- Update and review the existing legal contract templates and ensure that they are up to the Business requirements.
- Follow up on litigation with external counsel and consolidate progress reports.
- Archiving the legal department's work as instructed by Senior legal manager.
- Updating and consulting with line manager.
- Positive attitude, adaptable, and a collaborative team player
- Comprehensive and in-depth understanding of applicable law, including corporate law, data protection, anti-money laundering, lobbying, sanctions, and industry-specific regulations
- Excellent legal research skills
- Clear, concise communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide sound legal analysis, exercise good judgment, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Practical problem solver who is self-motivated with a high degree of initiative
- Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies and government officials is an asset
- Strong academic record, an LLB, or an appropriate conversion course is an asset
- Additional language (such as French) is an asset
