The objective of a country-level Logistics Cluster is to ensure that timely, coherent and effective logistics support to humanitarian aid/relief operations is possible (within funding and security constraints). WFP as lead agency of the Logistics Cluster is accountable to work in partnership with humanitarian stakeholders to deliver a strategic response, based on operational gaps (as per the IASC Guidelines on Cluster Coordination at Country Level). Within each country-level Logistics Cluster Lead Agency is a Logistics Cluster Coordinator (as per the IASC Generic Terms of Reference for Sector Leads at Country Level), who is responsible to lead and facilitate this process. Based on the needs identified and expressed by the humanitarian community, the Cluster will assume a coordination and information management role, while attempting to facilitate common services where required to maximise the use of available resources in-country, provide support and advocacy surrounding customs clearance and government liaison, and establish a more coordinated and cost-effective operational approach.
**Job Purpose**:
To facilitate the management of Logistics Cluster common service provision through; managing daily operations, collect, analyse and report on information, and cooperating with implementing partners to maximise efficiency of the logistics operations and activities.
**ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Within the assigned unit and delegated authority, the Logistics Associate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Provide specialized support to logistics operations and activities, following standard processes and contributing, directly or indirectly, to the effective delivery of food and none food assistance to beneficiaries.
- Coordinate requisitioning and ensure timely delivery of commodities and supplies to authorised partners and destinations.
- Manage logistics vendors’ contracting activities including performance monitoring and measurement.
- Support gathering market intelligence, vendor assessments (e.g. transporters, retailers) to support vendor selection process.

The role is very much like an internal consulting role where the incumbent will drive large high impact projects in supply chain. These projects will typically involve designing and building complex new processes, driving technology solutions, driving large cost reduction or efficiency improvement initiatives or launching exciting new supply chain models.
Key job responsibilities
1) They will be responsible for working with finance, supply chain execution, transportation and other Amazon teams to identify pain points and scope out large high impact projects
2) They will be responsible for driving cost benefit analysis and go/no-go decisions on various initiatives
3) Once a go decision is made, the program manager will work to evolve a plan and timeline for execution.
4) The program manager will develop a roadmap and metrics to measure progress of the initiative they own. They will also own writing reports/documents that detail the progress to leadership on a frequent basis
5) They will liaise across functions to drive their project and help clear issues and bottlenecks.
