Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager located in Cairo, Egypt. The HSE Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. Day-to-day tasks include conducting risk assessments, accident investigations, and ensuring compliance with EHS regulations. The HSE Manager will also be responsible for providing training and preparing reports for management to ensure a safe work environment.

  • Health & Safety, and Environment Health and Safety (EHS) skills
  • Skills in Occupational Health and Accident Investigation
  • Experience in providing Training on safety and health protocols
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

· Conduct regular visits to stores and distribution centers (DCs) and complete the safety checklist for each region.

· Perform Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) tests on safety equipment in DCs/stores to ensure adequacy in preventing fire hazards.

· Implement OHS governmental procedures to ensure compliance and avoid potential fines.

· Prepare and maintain OHS standards documentation, ensuring readiness for ISO Occupational Health and Safety Management System) certification.

· Ensure that emergency plans are in place for each DC and oversee the execution of weekly/monthly drills, monitoring the performance of emergency teams.

· Collaborate with the maintenance team to implement safety equipment repair plans and ensure timely maintenance, securing adequate operational readiness.

· Work with security and Loss Prevention (LP) teams to ensure all DCs/stores are inspected and certified by the Civil Protection Authority.

· Inspect, test, and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.

· Prepare detailed written reports based on findings, inspections, and observations.

· Design and implement workplace processes and procedures that protect employees from hazardous conditions.

· Evaluate workplace health and safety programs to ensure effectiveness and compliance.

· Lead educational programs on workplace safety, including preparing and delivering training sessions for employees.

· Demonstrate the correct use of safety equipment and provide hands-on guidance when required.

· Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.

· Monitor general inbound and outbound operational processes, raising comments and recommendations to the Security Manager to minimize losses and prevent hazards.

Prepare and submit reports on hazards, problems, incidents, and corrective actions to the LP Director as required.

Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

Good command of English (written)

Minimum 3 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), ISO 45001 & 14001, At least 3 years in a managerial role in a similar position.

Strong knowledge of Technical HSE, warehouse, and retail safety standards.

Ability to work as part of a team to minimize risks in warehouse operations through identifying unsafe practices and monitoring equipment validity.

·
Proven track record as an effective leader in EHS operations, capable of covering gaps that could lead to potential losses.

·
Excellent coordination skills to work with different departments and prevent miscommunication that could cause hazards.

·
Ability to establish and maintain a secure and safe working atmosphere in warehouses

·
Experience in developing and implementing full training sessions to raise employees' awareness of HSE standards.

·
Ensure all safety systems are functioning effectively and in line with required specifications.
