AESG are seeking a passionate and driven Waste Consultant for an exciting new opportunity to work within AESGs award winning Environment department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for environmental consultancy services with a willingness to work across multiple environmental disciplines and contribute to the continued growth of the environmental division.
We are seeking an individual who can lead the delivery of waste management projects throughout the Middle East, including waste management strategies, waste audit studies, and waste permitting programme. The individual will act as the primary contact for the waste management business unit and drive forward business development in the sector through existing networks and new relationships, including with regards to writing proposals and participating in conferences and events, as well as Project management of a variety of projects varying complexity and scale.

Responsibilities:
- Delivery of waste management consultancy projects to high levels of quality within project deadlines
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Project management of environmental & waste management studies in the region
- Contribute to company and department growth and success
- Seeking opportunities for repeat work and extensions of work scope on existing projects through high level of client satisfaction
- Assist in preparing proposals when required
Essential Skills:
- Bachelor or MSc degree level in Waste Management, Environmental management or other relevant studies
- At least 3 years of experience in the implementation of similar assignments in the waste management consultancy
- Experience in waste management infrastructure design and buildings assets waste management design
- Experience in recycling activities and disposal technologies/waste treatment
- Technical expertise and leadership, particularly in solid waste management and waste management strategies, at the local, national, and regional level
- A knowledge of such areas as international resource and waste management policy and strategy, life-cycle analysis, circular economy, net zero, zero waste to landfill, waste projections and carbon modelling, waste operations and collections, waste infrastructure, sustainable procurement and, economic and financial analysis

Roles and Responsibilities
The core scope of this function is following up "Screening, Scoping, ESIA, and RAP studies preparation" for projects on the corporate level. The studies and all relevant sub-scopes shall be conducted by Independent Consultants to fulfill projects' lenders and employers' requirements.
Extra Comments
• Preparing RFP, RFQ, ToR, SoW, etc. for various environmental studies based on the project requirements, and local and international standards, while considering lenders' and employers' requirements.
• Prepare a list of potential consultants/IEs who can perform the study(s) based on the project type, size, nature, complexity, project country, previous experience, etc., or use and lenders' advisor's list if provided.
• Create and implement environmental policies and practices
• Assessing, analyzing, and collating environmental performance data and reporting information to internal staff, clients, and regulatory bodies
• Manage the offering process (sending, receiving, clarification, negotiation, etc.) until consultant(s) are hired.
• Follow up the work with the hired consultant(s), review their reports and deliverables, and follow up on their work on the ground if needed.

We are seeking two highly skilled and motivated Freelance Environmental Engineers to join our expert network. This role is ideal for independent professionals with a deep understanding of Saudi Arabia's environmental regulatory landscape. You will play a crucial part in ensuring our clients' projects comply with national environmental standards by leading critical environmental assessments.
What You Will Do
- Conduct comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Environmental Audit Studies for designated projects.
- Specifically manage and prepare documentation for Class 2 and Class 3 projects as per the National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC) classification.
- Ensure all studies and reports are fully compliant with the latest NCEC guidelines and regulations.
- Perform data collection and analysis to assess baseline environmental conditions.
- Identify, predict, and evaluate potential environmental impacts, proposing effective mitigation measures.
- Liaise with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders throughout the study process.
- Prepare detailed, high-quality technical reports for submission to the NCEC.

What You Bring (Qualifications & Experience)
- Essential: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering (with an Environmental Focus), or a related field.
- Essential: A minimum of 2 to 5 years of direct, hands-on experience conducting EIAs and Environmental Audits within Saudi Arabia.
- Essential: Proven, demonstrable experience working on Class 2 and/or Class 3 projects from inception to NCEC approval.
- Essential: Comprehensive knowledge of Saudi environmental laws and in-depth expertise in NCEC guidelines, procedures, and submission requirements.
- Strong technical writing skills with a portfolio of past approved reports.
- Excellent command of the English language; proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
- A self-starter who can work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet strict deadlines.
