The Role Job description

The electrical engineer is responsible for evaluating, designing, and supporting electrical systems and components throughout the project lifecycle. This role ensures optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and technical excellence in bids, installations, and project executions.

• Evaluate electrical systems, components, products, and applications by applying design knowledge and understanding of electricity and materials.
• Design and implement testing procedures to confirm systems' and components' performance and capabilities.
• Support the bidding process by selecting appropriate equipment, preparing technical specifications, and ensuring competitive pricing to enhance bid success.
• Ensure the proper installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical components in ongoing projects to meet technical standards.
• Review tender documents and drawings to prepare accurate technical proposals, estimate costs, and coordinate with vendors/subcontractors for pricing and negotiations.
• Work toward achieving success metrics by recommending cost-effective solutions and enhancing technical value in proposals.
• Collaborate with team members to accomplish project goals and contribute to overall project success.
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments by attending technical workshops and reviewing engineering best practices.
• Continuously improve designs by adopting cutting-edge technologies and modern engineering methodologies.

• Tendering & estimation - experience in reviewing tender documents, preparing technical offers, BOQs, and cost estimates.
• Codes & standards compliance - strong knowledge of IEC, NEC, and local electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Testing & commissioning - hands-on experience in site supervision, system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning support.

Job Purpose
- Electrical engineer designer to be included in the construction of hydrocarbon production, transport and transformation plants, including petrochemicals in general and the construction of electricity production plants with renewable sources.

**Main Responsibilities**
- The development of the following activities that will be carried out at levels of increasing detail from the early stages of feasibility and conceptual design to detailed
engineering and construction:

- Key activities Processing of load lists, electrical balance, and single-line diagrams
- Processing of short-circuit calculations, ground network, and Load Flow, cable sizing
- Development of technical and functional specifications for non-complex medium and low voltage electrical equipment.
- Processing of technical opinions for all the aforementioned equipment and subsequently approval of documentation issued by the various suppliers
- Detailed installation activities related to the development of layouts, motive power, and cable routing systems, lighting system and ground network layout, processing of various lists, terminal board, and diagrams / MTO details
- Supervision and/or site engineering activities during assembly phases and commissioning of plants.

Job Requirements
- Minimum job grade: 5 years of experience Graduated in Electra-technical or from Higher Technical institute with preference in Oil & Gas plants. Experience in renewable energy generation plants is appreciated.
- Least 5 years of experience, gained in the development of electrical engineering,
Further information required Knowledge of National and International Standards in particular to ISO and IEC standards.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English language
- Knowledge of IT tools such as Microsoft Office and Autocad
- Knowledge of software and calculation tools for the electrical dimension (i.e. ETAP)

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE:
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
+ Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical and automation equipment.
+ Troubleshoot and repair faults in electrical control systems, drives, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and instrumentation.

Automation Systems
+ Program, maintain, and upgrade PLC systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.).

Electrical Systems
+ Maintain and troubleshoot power distribution systems (LV/MV), motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, and backup power systems.

Spare Parts Warehouse Management
+ Manage the inventory of electrical and automation spare parts, ensuring availability of critical components.

+ Identify obsolete parts and propose replacements or upgrades.
+ Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of spare parts.

+ Participate in process improvement projects to enhance system performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.

Compliance & Safety

**Your responsibilities**:

- Responsible for development of the list of required Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs) and their pertaining working documents (e.g. logbook, checklist etc.) for all electrical equipment.
- Responsible for development, review and amendment of the mentioned SMPs and working documents in collaboration with NCIC team.
- Support NCIC team in understanding the SMPs’ principle and contents by providing required training.
