Position Summary:
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance of all electrical systems and equipment within SWAY Mall. The role ensures the operational efficiency, safety, and reliability of electrical infrastructure to support smooth mall operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out routine inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems (lighting, power distribution, panels, switches, circuit breakers, etc.).
Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, diagnose faults, and perform corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new electrical equipment and systems.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards while performing all tasks.
Maintain accurate records of work orders, maintenance activities, and spare parts usage.
Support energy efficiency initiatives and report any issues that could affect energy consumption.
Coordinate with the Facilities Management team to ensure smooth operations and minimal disruptions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably in malls, commercial centers, or large facilities.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, troubleshooting, and safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Flexibility to work in shifts and respond to emergency calls when needed.

About This Role
The role will be responsible for executing maintenance on Processing Plant electrical installations. This position will give inputs to the electrical supervisor on equipment maintenance and corrective actions
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor substations in the plant and carry out any maintenance procedures
- Attend training, development and performance improvement training as required
- Execute electrical refurbishment and maintenance work items as tasked – compliant and in accordance with all relevant regulations from Government of Ghana and AGBL
- Execute daily pre-start checks of equipment/tools prior to leaving workshop. Escalate and report any anomalies
- Assess all equipment required for completion of the tasked work, create checklist, and transport all tools necessary for task completion
- Recognize any machine, equipment or crane operation anomalies that would indicate requirements for maintenance, report and escalate.
- Provide data and information to support the Maintenance Planner to close out work orders in the maintenance management system
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Education, Work Experience & Key Competencies
- HND or EET Part II or III in Electrical Engineering.
- Three (3) Years of experience preferably Process Plant maintenance
- Familiarity with the Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health Safety and Technical) Regulation
- Knowledge of the Ghana Electrical Wiring Regulations 2012, L.I. 2008
- Must possess an Inspecting Engineer's Certificate of Competency from Mineral Commission of Ghana
- Strong electrical maintenance competencies in mining and/or extractive metallurgy environment
- Basic skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Project and Excel
- Knowledge in Electrical starters maintenance: DOLs, VSDs, Soft Starters, Liquid resistance starters Ability to work in multi-cultural environment where respect is paramount.
