Position Summary
This is a full-time on-site role for a Teaching Assistant at The Royal Canadian School in New Cairo. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with homeroom teachers to support students' learning and well-being, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Key Responsibilities
- Classroom Support
• Assist the teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students who require additional assistance.
• Prepare teaching materials and resources as directed by the teacher.
- Student Engagement
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.
• Support students in developing social skills, confidence, and independence.
• Supervise students during classroom transitions, recess, and other non-instructional times.
- Administrative Assistance
• Maintain organized records of student progress and activities as required.
• Assist with classroom organization and hygiene .
• Support the teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Collaboration

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor degree from Faculty of Education
• Experience working with children, in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English and in Arabic.

• Familiarity with classroom technology and software is an asset.
Working Conditions

The candidate must be a team player and must have a passion to achieve the highest levels of learning and a culture of excellence for themselves and their students.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist pupils to become better learners.
- Support pupils to overcome barriers to learning so they are able to work independently and in the company of other pupils.
- Develop a mutually supportive relationship with the teaching staff to help pupils again access to the curriculum by differentiating instructions and resources.
- Support the delivery of the enhanced curriculum offered by the school.
- Undertake the relevant training to enhance personal development and use the knowledge to benefit the school and its pupils.

- Bachelor's degree or relevant higher-level qualification or vocational training which can be practically applied to supporting pupil development.
- Minimum 3 years' teaching and learning support experience in Education sector.
