Our company provides a wide range of geospatial services for Surveying & AEC businesses worldwide. We currently have 15+ employees in Alexandria and are looking to expand our team.
Role Description:
This is a full-time on-site role for a Architecture & CAD Drafting Engineer - Scan to CAD at GEOBIRO Engineering Services in our office in Alexandria, Egypt. The role involves daily tasks such as creating 2D as built drawings in AutoCAD from point clouds scan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for creating and developing accurate 2D as build drawings using AutoCAD and point cloud data.
· Coordinate and collaborate with the team and project manager any related issues of the project.
· Update models to reflect client requirements or site changes.
· Ensure deliverables are issued on time and meet the quality control standards and project requirements.
· Troubleshoot drawingsissues and resolve all QC reports.
Qualifications:
· Must be able to work from our Alexandria office (on-site position).
· Experience with point cloud drafting in AutoCAD.
· Experience with BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Recap).
· Bachelor's degree in architecture, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or any related field.
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply if you have the following:
years of experience in creating as built 2D drawings from point clouds.
Strong understanding of architectural drawings and construction details.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
Senior applicants must have the following:
Over 2 years of experience in CAD field with at least 1 year with 2D as built drawings from point clouds
Strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
Proven experience in managing teams and handling large-scale projects.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Job Description:
Global Engineering Services is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to complement their International Operations Design Team. This individual will be responsible for providing drafting support services to create and update both 2D and 3D designs under direction of experienced designers. Creation of design artifacts will require work in Navisworks, AutoCAD and Revit with a high level of detail and quality. A successful candidate will be able to co-ordinate with multiple stakeholders and inputs and be able to successfully problem solve technical issues with legacy design files. For example, bringing 2D files to a 3D environment for up-to-date design.
Responsibilities:
- Work with architectural, mechanical handling equipment and MEP models and provide detailed internal design package drawings
- Creation of 3D reference models from PointCloud data
- Develop supplementary detail on request (Data extraction/Views/Setting out)
- Collaborate to resolve design flaws and inconsistencies in the overall design to ensure that all sites are consistently executed
- Provide co-ordination of design delivery inclusive of different disciplines at a high level and quality
- Perform clash detection to minimize issues arising from multiple design inputs
- Support field engineers with composite layout designs to solve issues arising in the field, responding to RFI queues as necessary
Basic qualifications:
- Architectural, Engineering or related Bachelor's Degree
- Proficient in 2D/3D design and collaboration for the built environment
